Why do some aloe plants bloom only in the winter?

The answer is temperature and rain. During the summer months, aloe plants are often dried out because of the hot weather, so their process of blooming slows down. When temperatures drop in the winter months and rainfall increases slightly, this normalizes the water balance within the plant and allows for it to continue its life cycle.
